Marketing with a Nap Schedule: How I Built a Business Without Burning Out

There was a season of my life when the only time I could work was during nap time.

One solid 90-minute window — if I was lucky.

I’d sit down, heart racing, trying to do all the things at once: client work, social posts, website tweaks, figuring out SEO, and maybe sneak in a bite to eat.

But here’s what I learned the hard way:

You don’t need more time to grow a business.
You need a clearer strategy.

Especially when you’re balancing diapers and client deadlines.

 

What I Stopped Doing (That Saved My Sanity)

I stopped:

  • Trying to be everywhere online 
  • Posting just to stay “visible” – you know… the post and pray it does something 
  • Wasting time tweaking things that didn’t bring in leads 
  • Telling myself I had to do everything alone 

I realized that doing less, better was the key.
So I built a streamlined, repeatable system that worked with my limited time — not against it.

 

What I Started Doing Instead

1. Focus on Visibility That Converts

Instead of being on every platform, I focused on my website and local SEO.
As a small business owner in Rockford, I optimized my site with the right keywords and created content that answered real questions. That meant showing up in search — not just on social.

Your website should act like a 24/7 employee.
It should explain who you help, how you help, and how to get started. Period.
